The Richmond Flying Squirrels managed to get by the Binghamton Mets, 4-3, at The Diamond. Richmond pitcher Mario Correa set himself apart with his performance. Correa, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in innings pitched with 42.0, went the distance for Richmond. He gave up 3 runs on 11 hits. The Flying Squirrels, now 17-8, have been playing some good baseball.

First Baseman Mark Goree made an impact for Richmond, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Mike DiDonato in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Goree went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Goree told the Richmond Citizen.
