The Trenton Thunder could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Adam Redel into a win. Instead, the Altoona Curve prevailed, 6-4. Redel threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Altoona pitcher Randy Owen got the win. He's now 2-0. J.P. Van Nostrand was tagged with the loss. The save went to Brian Barnes, number 3 for him.
Altoona went up, 6-4, on Joel Blanchard's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Blanchard hit in the top of the ninth, left Trenton pitcher Rafael Graham shaking his head.
"I like our moxie," said Curve manager Gerardo Zarco.
The Thunder fall to 8-18 and continue their sputtering start to the 2109 season.
