Nationals on to Round 2

Jeff Aponte wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Round 1 MVP.
The star's Potomac Nationals defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks by a series score of 3-1 to advance to the Round 2.
Potomac won the final game by a 2-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium.
Aponte hit .250 with a .250 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 0 home runs, driving in 0 RBI and scoring 0 runs.
"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Aponte.
The Potomac Nationals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Carolina Mudcats - Winston-Salem Dash series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
