Wheelock, Nationals Wallop Blue Rocks in Game 3 of R1
The Potomac Nationals have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Wilmington Blue Rocks, winning 6-2 at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium today. Nationals third baseman Rick Wheelock was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Nationals to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Wheelock brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the second, when the 25-year old third baseman ripped a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put Potomac ahead, 3-0.

"It's a big deal," Wheelock said of the win. "If we had gone to 0-3, we're pretty much out of it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge.
