Mahoning Valley right-hander Kevin Peterson pitched his team to victory over the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium. The final score was 8-3. Lindsay Nickerson picked up the save, his 10th. The last-place Muckdogs have dropped 9 straight games.

Ricky Cruz tagged a home run off Henry Vielma in the top of the second. His 3-run blast put the Scrappers on top, 3-1. In all, Cruz had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
