Late Offense Lifts Mahoning Valley to 7-5 Victory
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers trumped the West Virginia Black Bears, 7-5, at Eastwood Field. Mahoning Valley second baseman Jon Schulte was terrific. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Mahoning Valley pitcher Noah Robinson earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Justin LaRose suffered the loss. Mahoning Valley has a record of 46-29, placing them first in the Pinckney Division.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Mahoning Valley. That's when Ben Endahl hit a 3-run home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Justin LaRose to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Endahl said.
