Weisel, Spikes Finish Off Crosscutters, 5-1
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the State College Spikes and Williamsport Crosscutters.
State College Spikes starter Jason Weisel turned a whale of an effort into a win over the Williamsport Crosscutters. The final score was 5-1, State College. The Spikes improved to 44-31.
The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Weisel. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Spikes. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Crosscutters, striking out 7 and scattering 3 hits over 9 innings. Weisel is now 6-2 on the season.
"I was determined to go the distance," said Weisel.
