Spikes Walk Off with 4-3 Win
The State College Spikes took Williamsport pitcher Mike Sweigart's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The final score had State College getting past the Crosscutters, 4-3. Sweigart went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. State College reliever Edwin Gutierrez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-8. John Shorey was saddled with the loss. State College goes to 28-47, Williamsport to 60-15.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, pinch hitter Josh Mcquade won it for State College. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Mcquade hit a 1-1 sinker from John Shorey for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Mcquade.
