Tellechea Blasts Rangers, Padres Take Game 3, 7-3
|
The San Diego (AZL) Padres have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Texas (AZL) Rangers, winning 7-3 at Peoria Sports Complex today. Padres right fielder Danny Tellechea was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Padres to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.
The Padres took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Facing Texas (AZL) hurler David Herrera with two outs, Tellechea hit a 2-run home run.
"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," San Diego (AZL) manager Travis Holm told reporters. "At least I hope we are."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, September 7th , 2098.
