Round 1 Goes the Distance, San Antonio Prevails
The San Antonio Missions players streamed onto the field at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium in jubilation, while heads were hung and few words were spoken in the Frisco RoughRiders clubhouse at the conclusion of the Round 1.

In a series that had a bit of everything and went the distance, San Antonio won the final game 10-5 and the series 3-2.

"It's hard to describe what we're feeling right now," said San Antonio left-hander Ivan Espinosa, whose strong pitching performance in the series garnered him MVP honors. "You square off against a good team like Frisco and anything can happen. Both teams deserved to go on, but thankfully it's us."

For the series, Espinosa had a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched. He added 4 strikeouts with a 1-0 record.

The San Antonio Missions will play against the Tulsa Drillers in the next round. Tulsa won their series against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
