Blue Wahoos Heading to Round 2
|
It was a sweet sweep for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos as they eased past the Chattanooga Lookouts to advance to the Round 2.
Pensacola won the final game by a 3-2 count and the series 3-0.
"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Jonathan Phillips, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Phillips hit .364 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Montgomery Biscuits - Birmingham Barons series. Birmingham leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
