Chris Miller said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 1 until he was shown his own statistics.

The St. Lucie Mets center fielder put up a .444 average with 0 home runs, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Mets advancing to the Round 2, with a 3-1 series win over the Palm Beach Cardinals.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 5-1 triumph at Roger Dean Stadium. Even if Miller is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

The St. Lucie Mets will play against the Dunedin Blue Jays in the next round. Dunedin won their series against the Brevard County Manatees 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
