Facing elimination, the Fort Wayne TinCaps were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Mike Huber delivered.

At Parkview Field, the 27-year-old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Great Lakes Loons and help the TinCaps close their deficit in the Round 1. Huber threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 3-0 Fort Wayne win, striking out 10 and allowing 4 hits. The TinCaps now trail 2-1 in the best-of-5 series.

Huber delivered a quality start for Fort Wayne. The 6-foot-1 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 9 innings of work.

"There's nothing like the postseason," said Huber, "to ramp up the pressure."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parkview Field in Ft. Wayne.
