Drillers Hammered by Utz, Drop Game 2 to Naturals
|
With left fielder Ian Utz leading the charge, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals got a road win over the Tulsa Drillers, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Utz went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once at ONEOK Field to help Northwest Arkansas force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Utz hit a slider from Estevan Febus for a grand slam home run, putting Northwest Arkansas up, 5-0.
"The rain was definitely not preferable," Utz said. "It worked out fine I guess, but we'll be happy if we see the sun next time."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 13th , 2104 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.
