Mark Weeks smiled when asked to describe his feelings after being named Round 1 MVP for the Gwinnett Braves.

"I feel like I have a new piece of hardware to put up on my mantle and a new story to tell my kids and grandchildren some day," he said with a laugh. "Overall I'm just happy we won."

The Braves eliminated the Buffalo Bisons with a 3-2 win at Coolray Field, which wrapped up the series 3-1.

For the series, Weeks had a 0.00 ERA over 10 innings pitched. He added 11 strikeouts with a 2-0 record.

The Gwinnett Braves will play against the Indianapolis Indians in the next round. Indianapolis won their series against the Charlotte Knights 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
