The Midland RockHounds took down the San Antonio Missions by the score of 3-1 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Round 1. The largest share of the credit belongs to Midland starter Amir Savoy, who threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball.

Miguel Sandoval came through with a big-time hit for Midland. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Amir was in control from the top," said Midland manager Tony Gonzalez.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 13th , 2104 at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland.
