Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Romero and New Hampshire
The Round 1 got off to a quiet start today, with the host New Hampshire Fisher Cats taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Akron RubberDucks. New Hampshire right-hander Alex Romero was marvelous at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Fisher Cats now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Franklin Padilla helped out the New Hampshire cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-2.

"It has been an incredible experience today," Romero said in the clubhouse following the game. "It's a short list of people who have started in the Round 1 at all, and an even shorter list who have done a good job of it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
