Giants Hammered by Sansone, Drop Game 2 to Rawhide
With designated hitter Mike Sansone leading the charge, the Visalia Rawhide got a road win over the San Jose Giants, 4-1, in Game 2 of the Round 1 today. Sansone went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once at San Jose Municipal Stadium to help Visalia force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

It could have been a different outcome for Visalia, had it not been for Randy Steg, the 27-year old shortstop . Steg contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Visalia up, 2-1.

Giants manager Rogelio Ramirez did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Round 2."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Recreation Park in Visalia.
