Binkley Blasts Intimidators, Shorebirds Take Game 1, 8-5
The Delmarva Shorebirds started the Round 1 in style, winning on the road against the Kannapolis Intimidators at CMC-NorthEast Stadium by a score of 8-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Shorebirds catcher Ryan Binkley excelled. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5.

Pat Fisher broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the third with a run-scoring walk. It put the Shorebirds in front, 1-0. For the game, Fisher drew 2 walks.

"We're all smiles after that win," Binkley told the Delmarva News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
