Tri-City ValleyCats starter Ben Smith kept the Connecticut Tigers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-0 win. Picking up the save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Correa. Tri-City currently is in first place in the Stedler Division at 46-28.

Smith tossed 84 pitches over 6 innings to clinch the win for the ValleyCats. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 11 strikeouts in the game.

"Ben is a tough competitor," said Tri-City manager Pat Bredahl.
