Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Fife and Lynchburg
The Lynchburg Hillcats started the Round 1 in style today, downing the visiting Wilmington Blue Rocks at Ed Smith Stadium by a score of 7-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Hillcats right-hander Josh Fife threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, left fielder Jeff Clark came through big-time for the Hillcats. With Lynchburg trailing 3-1, he belted a 2-run home run.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Clark said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ed Smith Stadium in Lynchburg.
