In a pivotal Game 5, the Dunedin Blue Jays were hoping for a big game from starter Job MacDonald. They got one.

The right-hander shut out the Charlotte Stone Crabs, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 1-0 victory. The Blue Jays took the 1-0 win over the Charlotte Stone Crabs to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

MacDonald, a native of Willemstad, Curaçao, was dealing all game. He kept Charlotte hitters off-balance, while giving the Blue Jays 7 quality innings. MacDonald threw 97 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.

"Huge," MacDonald said. "Game 5 is huge."

Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin.
