Aberdeen Stopped, 4-3, by Brooklyn
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones picked up a win at Ripken Stadium, downing the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 4-3. On the mound for Brooklyn was right-hander Brian Keenan, who played a pivotal role in the win. Keenan got the win, improving to 4-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Perez.
Josh McDonald had a direct impact on the outcome. McDonald contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Brooklyn up, 4-3.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Keenan.
Brooklyn, at 40-34, sits in third place in the McNamara Division.
