Ogle Blasts Dash, Pelicans Take Game 1, 4-3
|
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans started the Round 1 in style today, winning on the road against the Winston-Salem Dash at BB&T Ballpark by a score of 4-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Pelicans center fielder Ryan Ogle excelled. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Jim Hensley Jr. to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pelicans on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I try to take on every game as if it is the most important of the season, so I don't feel like anything's different now," Hensley Jr. said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
