Behind the hitting of David Guerrero, the Brooklyn Cyclones clipped the Staten Island Yankees, 6-4. Guerrero was 3-4 with a home run and a double for the Cyclones. Brooklyn reliever Juan Zevallos picked up the win. Josh Smith, the 20th overall pick in the 2109 draft, took the loss for Staten Island. By defeating Staten Island, the third-place Cyclones improved to 41-34.

Manny Cera had a big 3-run home run for the Cyclones in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Brooklyn trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Smith and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Cyclones on top, 3-1.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Cera.
