The Lowell Spinners knocked off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3, in New York-Penn League action at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. Lowell pitcher and Chillum, Maryland, native John Harris had an outstanding performance. With the win, Lowell has a record of 52-24. Vermont falls to 28-48.

The Spinners had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-3, Lowell, with one out. Vermont, with a runner on 2nd, was mounting a threat. Aldo Bardi dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he struck out.
