Cyclones Claim 3-1 Triumph
The bats were silent much of the day at MCU Park. But 20-year old third baseman Johnny Zamora produced just enough offense to carry the Cyclones past the Staten Island Yankees, 3-1. Zamora was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save was credited to Mike McGuire, his 6th. Their 41-35 record puts the Cyclones second in the McNamara Division.

Jose Acosta had a chance to do some damage in the top of the ninth. With Staten Island trailing 3-1, Staten Island had a runner on 2nd. But Acosta struck out.
