Road Win Lifts Fort Myers to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Fort Myers Miracle faced a tough opponent in St. Lucie Mets left fielder Mike Pond, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Round 1, which they now lead 1-0. The Miracle won, 7-3, at Tradition Field, despite the efforts of Pond, who was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times.
Miguel Leon had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Fort Myers. With the bases loaded and the Miracle leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We're happy," Leon told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie.
