Their bats were silent and Lexington had a rookie on the mound. No problem.

On a day when the Legends struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 21-year-old starter Dave Rincon. The right-hander quieted the Augusta GreenJackets at Whitaker Bank Ballpark to help Lexington take the 3-2 decision and seize a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Had Alex Estrada not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Estrada hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Legends.

"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Rincon after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
