Yard Goats Get 5-1 Win Versus New Hampshire
|
Mark Bevan knocked in all 5 runs for the Hartford Yard Goats, helping them beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-1. Elijah Jones got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Chris Stevens got credit for the save for Hartford. It was his 2nd of the year.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Bevan hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Yard Goats into the lead, 2-0.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Bevan.
The Yard Goats raised their record to 17-10.
