The sweet swing of Danny Funes has led his team through the Round 1.

The Indianapolis Indians star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Rochester Red Wings to advance to the Round 2.

The Indians won the final game at Victory Field by a score of 2-1 and the series 3-2.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Funes. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Funes hit .278 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Indianapolis Indians will play against the Charlotte Knights in the next round. Charlotte won their series against the Syracuse Chiefs 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
