The Ogden Raptors got a strong performance from pitcher David Medina, who stymied the visiting Texas (Rk+) Rangers en route to a win, 9-2, in Game 2 of the Round 1 today. The Rangers could never get a bead on the left-handed Medina, who threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball. The Raptors now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-5 series.

In his 102-pitch effort, Medina allowed 2 runs on 7 hits over 8.2 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 10.

"It felt like they almost stopped play a couple times, but it just held off," Medina said of the rain that threatened throughout much of the game. "Not great conditions for playoff baseball."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Black Diamonds Ballpark in Mesa.
