Rine Blasts Knights, Chiefs Take Game 2, 8-5
With shortstop Brett Rine leading the charge, the Syracuse Chiefs got a road win over the Charlotte Knights, 8-5, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Rine was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at BB&T Stadium to help Syracuse force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old catcher Salvador Laureano. Laureano had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 6-4. For the game, Laureano had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Rine. "I saw the ball well."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse.
