Hooks Clip Missions, 2-1, in R1 Contest
The Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the San Antonio Missions, 2-1, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Doing his part was starter Danny Floyd, who threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win moves Corpus Christi into a 1-1 tie with San Antonio in the series.

Corpus Christi used the timely hitting of Jonathan Andrade to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hooks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Danny was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Corpus Christi manager Ivan Cruz.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 8th , 2114 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
