San Antonio Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
The rookie looked like he belonged out there.

The San Antonio Missions sent 24-year-old left-hander Francisco Ruelas to the mound today for a high-pressure playoff start and he repaid their confidence, quieting the Tulsa Drillers on a day where the Missions struggled to produce runs of their own. In the end, San Antonio cobbled together enough to take the 2-0 decision. The win gave San Antonio a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Ruelas, who was born in El Carril, Dominican Republic, threw 93 pitches over 5.2 innings, while allowing no runs.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ruelas.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio.
