Knights Tie Series With Chiefs After 9-8 Win
The Charlotte Knights and the Syracuse Chiefs will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Knights beat the Chiefs, 9-8, at NBT Bank Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Charlotte first baseman Joey Simpson went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

Simpson had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the Knights. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Charlotte trailing 8-7, he hit a 2-run double.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Simpson.

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at BB&T Stadium in Ft. Mill.
