Road Win Lifts South Bend to 1-0 Lead in R1
With right fielder Miles Thrash leading the charge, the South Bend Cubs got a road win over the Great Lakes Loons, 3-1, in Game 1 of the Round 1. Thrash went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times at Dow Diamond to help South Bend take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Thrash had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth, when he hit a solo home run. The Cubs went on to win.

"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Thrash after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dow Diamond in Midland.
