The 23-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Tulsa Drillers worries.
Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Tony Jimenez seemed like a risky move for the Drillers, but it was one of the few things that went right at ONEOK Field. Jimenez tossed 7 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Tulsa dropped a 1-0 decision. With the win, San Antonio took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Felix Godina? The San Antonio designated hitter had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Missions on top, 1-0. For the game, Godina had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I try to take on every game as if it is the most important of the season, so I don't feel like anything's different now," Godina said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.
