Drillers Even With Missions After Home Win
Behind a bravura effort from starter Mark Matthews, the Tulsa Drillers topped the San Antonio Missions by the score of 5-3 and got their first win in the 2113 Round 2. Matthews threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the Drillers. The win moves Tulsa into a 1-1 tie with San Antonio.

Jose Nunez dealt the Missions a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Tulsa trailing 3-1, Nunez hit a first pitch fastball for a 3-run home run.

"If you think about it, you're working your whole career to be in position to get a clutch hit or make a clutch play in the Round 2," Nunez said after the game. "That's what everything boils down to."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 15th , 2113 at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio.
