Daytona Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
The Daytona Tortugas have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Lakeland Flying Tigers, winning, 3-2, at Joker Marchant Stadium. Tortugas right-hander Tony Sanchez threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Tortugas to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Daytona relied on the hitting of Camillo Sapia to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tortugas on top, 3-2. For the game, Sapia had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Sanchez, "and then get after it again."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland.
