Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Adams and St. Lucie
The St. Lucie Mets started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Palm Beach Cardinals at Tradition Field by a score of 5-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Mets right-hander D.J. Adams threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball.

Adams was in the zone all game. He frustrated Palm Beach hitters while giving the Mets 7 innings of quality work. Adams threw 98 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 12 punchouts.

"We're one game closer to our goal," St. Lucie manager Troy Nelson said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
