Pelicans Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of center fielder Bill Buschke, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans stopped the visiting Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-2, in Game 2 of the Round 2. Buschke was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Pelicans, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
In the bottom of the sixth, Jim Unknown delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Myrtle Beach catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Pelicans in front, 6-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Buschke told the Myrtle Beach Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 20th , 2109 at Ed Smith Stadium in Lynchburg.
