Nuts Win to Tie Series with Blaze
The Modesto Nuts and the Bakersfield Blaze will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Nuts beat the Blaze, 3-2, at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Modesto designated hitter Nick Cummings was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Cummings hit a solo home run. It thrust the Nuts into the lead, 3-2.

"I like our moxie," said Nuts manager Josh Weddington.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 18th , 2109 at John Thurman Field in Modesto.
