Lynchburg Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
The Lynchburg Hillcats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Wilmington Blue Rocks, winning, 4-3, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Hillcats designated hitter Jonathan Andrade was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Hillcats to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Lynchburg used the clutch hitting of Frenk Beltman to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Hillcats the lead, 2-1. For the game, Beltman had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Beltman.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.
