Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Reyes and Daytona
When he got to Daytona, Jesus Reyes was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 23-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Brevard County Manatees, 2-0, in a remarkable performance at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. With the win, the Tortugas took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Rey Barajas took Brevard County hurler Joe Case deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Tortugas on top, 2-0. In all, Barajas had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We lost," Brevard County manager Rick Mitchell said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach.
