Legends Even With Tourists After Home Win
The Lexington Legends and the Asheville Tourists will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Legends shut out the Tourists, 2-0, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Lexington right-hander Jose Vasques did his part. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball.

Vasques was in the zone, shutting down Asheville hitters over 6.1 innings. Vasques, who threw 91 pitches, allowed no runs on 2 hits. He also tallied 5 punchouts.

"We had a good game plan," Vasques said, "and we were able to execute it."

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at McCormick Field in Asheville.
