Legends Hammered by Simons, Drop Game 1 to Tourists
The Asheville Tourists started the Round 1 in style, winning on the road against the Lexington Legends at Whitaker Bank Ballpark by a score of 5-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Tourists shortstop Colin Simons excelled. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Simons hit a 2-run home run in the top of the second to help the Asheville cause. The home run, which was hit off Alex de la Rosa, allowed Asheville to take a 2-0 lead.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Asheville manager Jarrod Dryman said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
