The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the Lake Elsinore Storm on the road at Lake Elsinore Diamond by a score of 6-4. Quakes left-hander Pablo Pena had a strong outing. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 4 runs. The win gives the Quakes a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Josh Crowell provided a timely hit. The Rancho Cucamonga shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Quakes on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We're feeling good about this," said Quakes manager Arnold McAfee. "We have got an advantage now and we just need to keep the pressure on."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lake Elsinore Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
