By a score of 9-1, the Peoria Chiefs have sealed a victory in the Round 1 over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

"We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said catcher Curt Myers of the Chiefs, who was named the series MVP. "The Timber Rattlers knew how to battle and gave us a good test."

The next test for Peoria will come in the Round 2, after winning this series 3-1.

The Peoria Chiefs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Fort Wayne TinCaps - South Bend Cubs series. Fort Wayne leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
