Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Adams and Myrtle Beach

Their bats were silent and Myrtle Beach had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Pelicans struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 21-year-old starter Brian Adams. The left-hander quieted the Winston-Salem Dash at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark to help Myrtle Beach take the 3-1 decision and seize a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
In the top of the ninth, Alex Flores stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Dash were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Trevor Williams made a terrific pitch and Flores flied out. Gone was the dream of a Winston-Salem comeback.
