GreenJackets Heading to Round 2
The joy and relief on the faces of the Augusta GreenJackets players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the Asheville Tourists.

"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Augusta center fielder Ricky Cruz, shortly after the 8-5 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."

The team is now off to the Round 2.

Cruz won series MVP honors on the strength of his .368 batting average during the series. He also had a .455 on-base percentage and 3 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Augusta GreenJackets will play against the Hagerstown Suns in the next round. Hagerstown won their series against the Kannapolis Intimidators 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
