Nuts Even With Quakes After Home Win
The Modesto Nuts defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 2-1, in Game 4 of the Round 2. Doing his part was starter Michel de Graaf, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win moves Modesto into a 2-2 tie with Rancho Cucamonga in the series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Nuts had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when second baseman Ron Tidwell hit a 2-run single. The single came off Ken Traynor and made the score 2-0, Nuts. Tidwell went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.

"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Modesto manager Josh Weddington said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at John Thurman Field in Modesto.
