Riding the 2-hit performance of designated hitter Matt Widman, the Quad Cities River Bandits stopped the visiting Fort Wayne TinCaps, 6-3, in Game 5 of the Round 2 today. Widman was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the River Bandits, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 2.

The River Bandits took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Fort Wayne hurler Kisaku Takano with two outs, Widman hit a 2-run double.

Widman told a Quad Cities Daily reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Parkview Field in Ft. Wayne.
