The Burlington Bees took down the Peoria Chiefs by the score of 4-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Round 1. The largest share of the credit belongs to Burlington starter Joey Shelton, who threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball.

In the top of the first, Jon Peterson ambushed a 1-1 fastball from Mario Delgado and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Burlington a quick 2-0 lead.

Shelton told the Burlington Times: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Community Field in Burlington.
