Skipper Heredia Sacked; Reno Starts Search
Wednesday, November 20th , 2115
The fans in Reno have gotten their way -- today the Aces parted company with manager Jose Heredia.
He had been living on borrowed time after a poll of local sports fans found that he was losing popularity quickly. Fans had been increasingly more vocal about their displeasure with how Heredia was running the club on and off the field.
They had even created a "Fire Heredia Zone" in the right field bleachers, where fans would post signs and dress in t-shirts supporting his exodus as manager.
Asked if fan pressure had any effect on the termination, a Aces official, spoke off the record and said, "Yes, it had a bearing. We are always concerned about our fan base, but this was not the primary reason for the dismissal. In the last few months, things have gone downhill and we just had to do something about it. We decided to get new leadership in the clubhouse."
