Padres Clip Royals 3-2 in R2 Contest

A strong performance from pitcher Dave Castillo was not enough for the Burlington Royals, who were stopped by the visiting San Diego (Rk+) Padres, 3-2, in Game 3 of the Round 2. The Padres never truly figured out the right-handed Castillo, who threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Still, the Padres now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Kevin Webb aided the San Diego (Rk+) cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Burlington skipper Willie Elizondo.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Glen Ridge in Glen Ridge.
