Pensacola Tops Mississippi, 6-0, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
|
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos got an exceptional performance from starter Bill Penn, who silenced the Mississippi offense en route to a 6-0 shutout win in Game 3 of the Round 2. The Braves could never get a bead on the right-handed Penn, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Blue Wahoos now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Penn went the distance for Pensacola, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 8.
"I expect to pitch a complete game shutout every time," said Penn.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Five County Stadium in Pensacola.
