Astros Even With Royals After Home Win
|
The Greeneville Astros and the Burlington Royals will take the Round 2 to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Astros beat the Royals 5-1 at Pioneer Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Greeneville catcher Robby Figueroa went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times.
In the bottom of the second, Greeneville shortstop Jimmy McCoy had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, McCoy stroked a 2-run double to right. It made the score 2-0, Greeneville. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Figueroa said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pioneer Park in Greeneville.
