When he got to West Virginia, Joe Marsh was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 20-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-0, in a remarkable performance at Appalachian Power Park. With the win, the Power took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

The outcome hung in the balance with no one down in the top of the eighth. With the bases empty and Kannapolis trailing 1-0, Casey Hudson struck out. It was a big out for West Virginia pitcher Nate Scrivens.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 13th , 2110 at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
