Oklahoma City Breaks Through for First Win in Round 2; Now Trails 2-1
|
The Oklahoma City Dodgers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Sacramento River Cats, winning, 4-2, at Raley Field. Dodgers right-hander Danny Padilla threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Dodgers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Oklahoma City used a well-timed hit by Ron Santora to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Santora attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Raley Field in Sacramento.
