The Syracuse Chiefs draws first blood in the Round 1, cutting down the Rochester Red Wings at Frontier Field, 5-2. With the win, Syracuse grabs a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Chiefs right-hander Ian Vick threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Johnny Boundy? The 25-year old right fielder Boundy stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Syracuse up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I have a really good team behind me," Vick said. "I trust them 100 percent."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Frontier Field in Rochester.
