Reis Ks 11, Loons Top Lugnuts in Extra Innings to Tie Series
|
Great Lakes starter Randy Reis turned in an exceptional performance and got some last-minute help as the Loons forced the Round 1 into a decisive Game 5. The right-handed Reis threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball in a must-win situation against the Lansing Lugnuts, keeping Great Lakes close enough to take the 3-2 victory on a 10th-inning walk-off. The winner of the series will advance to the Round 2.
The clutch hit was provided by Bobby Prescott. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Steve Teply in the bottom of the tenth.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Reis said in his postgame press conference.
Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing.
