Kennedy, Potomac Open Round 1 with Win
With starter Jesse Kennedy leading the charge, the Potomac Nationals defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-3, in Game 1 of the Round 1. The left-hander threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium to help Potomac take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Kennedy, who was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, threw 96 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing no runs.

"Jesse pumped strikes and he made good pitches when he had to," said Potomac manager Danny Marquez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge.
