Podolak Excels, Lake Elsinore Wins Round 1 Game 1
The Lake Elsinore Storm started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at Lake Elsinore Diamond by a score of 9-3 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Storm second baseman Aaron Podolak went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4.

Podolak contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Lake Elsinore get the win.

"The first game of a series is kind of a tone-setter, right?" Podolak said later. "After tonight, I hope so."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lake Elsinore Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
